December 31st at the beaches

Maike and I lived in Tenerife (Spain) for the last couple of years, and there are some really nice traditions on the Canarian Islands. One of them is eating 12 grapes at midnight on the 31st of December, one for every month in the next year. While you´re eating your grapes, you think about the next 12 months and how you want things to happen in the new year.

Well, as long as we lived in Spain, we kept this that tradition every year. Moving to Ireland didn´t stop us and to add some feeling of the past we ate our grapes at the beach this year. It was freezing cold, so the right feeling didn´t come up - but we took some pictures of the beaches we want to share with you. We were especially impressed by some guys that seem to be really crazy. It was about 1 or 2 degrees Celsius, and the really went surfing in December. Well - at least something that really reminded us of Tenerife (not that we would really miss it, to be honest)…

Tintern Abbey

Maike went out some weeks ago and made a short stop at Tintern Abbey (which is only some minutes away from our house). She took some nice pictures that we didn´t want you to miss.

Welcome to Fethard-on-Sea!

We are Maike and Florian, and we recently moved to the very charming town Fethard-on-Sea in Co. Wexford (Ireland). We originally come from Germany, lived in Spain for some years and now found our new home in the most exciting area of Hook Peninsula.

One of our hobbies is photography, so we will take the chance and go out whenwever we can to get some shots of interesting places, castles, people, and of course the numerous beaches around our new home town. We will show you some of the pictures on this website and hope that you enjoy them as much as we do.

If the images are not 100% clear, this normally is only because we reduced the file size to minimise the time they need load up on this website. All pictures are available in a high resolution (normally 10 megapixel), so they could easily be printed as a poster or in high quality photo books.

This website is still under ongoing development, so if one or another feature doesn´t work properly please excuse this. If you have any questions or want to use on of our photos for your own site or other purposes, please contact us. We do not have to live from photography, but it´s still our own content and we´re more than happy to give you a license for (nearly) any purpose - just ask!
